We are living at a time when confusion about the church might be at an all time high. The burning question for such a time as this is "What is the Church?" Our sincere hope is that this series will not only be clarifying, but empowering and healing.

There is nothing wrong with studying Jesus or learning about Jesus. But discipleship is something deeper, higher, greater, and more glorious. Jesus does not say, "Study Me." He says, "Follow Me." This series, through the Gospel of Mark, will allow us again and again to see Jesus, hear Jesus, and obey the call to follow Jesus.

Pastor Jason gave the ordination charge to Pastor Tommy, and Pastor Jonathan delivered the ordination charge to the congregation. We also had the opportunity to hear a brief response from Pastor Tommy.

We are focused on following Christ in the mission that he has for our church. Selfish desires must not twist the way we treat or regard others and it changes the way we regard ourselves. Christ now controls the reigns of our life!

This series of messages seeks to lay out the stunning and compelling vision that Christ has for his church as we grow in our understanding and experience of what it means to go deeper together as God's people.

The book of Philippians highlights that when we unite as a church with the purpose of Jesus we will share together in the heart of Jesus and as a result the joy of the Lord will be our strength and shield.

This year our advent theme is meekness and majesty. We will be surveying the greatest journey in all of history. We will watch the Son of God go from majesty to meekness and then from meekness to majesty.

Join us this Sunday as we explore the meaning of baptism. We will not only learn about baptism from all of Scripture, but we will also have a chance to witness multiple baptisms in response to the message.

The Psalms will not only speak to us (like all of Scripture), but speak for us. The Psalms minister to us in a mighty way because they give us language for every season of the soul. They can speak for us when we do not quite have the words to express our joy, lament, thanksgiving, weeping, praise, or trust.

As we prepare to enter the throne room once more, we will see that God the Son - Jesus the Redeemer - is worthy of worship. Let's prepare our hearts for worship as we will set our minds on the things above.

Many people today wonder what it would take to know that Jesus is risen. What would it take to know that truth and have it change your life forever?

Let us not put Jesus in a box constructed from our own assumptions and expectations. We want our hearts to be aligned with who he says he is and what he says he has come to do.

Do not buy the watered-down version of worldly hope. The world uses that word differently than the Bible. Biblical hope is God-centered certainty in what is true and cannot change.
