Mission Detroit

Registration Deadline

Interested in serving the city of Detroit? Hope Community Church, pastored by Pastor T, is having the Detroit version of Mission to the City this August 23-26. If you missed the Info meeting, and would still like to go, please email Kenya for details. The deadline to register is Wednesday, June 20.

Pick up a Workbook!

This summer all our locations will be doing a local mission trip, participating in evangelism training, and doing the same series in July called “Talk Less, Say More.” You will not only need the workbook to take notes at the trainings and weekend messages, but also to help you get spiritually ready for MTOC. Within the workbook, we have 40 days of preparation (starting June 15) including daily prayer points, a spot for daily journaling, and other topics to study. Please join us on this journey and pick up your workbooks at an upcoming service!

Gear Up! Get Ready! Game On!

Mission to Our City

Wednesday, July 25-Sunday, July 29

Every summer our church sets aside the last week of July to leave our building behind and head out into our city. We grow closer to one another as we offer the hope of the Gospel to our neighbors. This is a highlight of the year for many. We encourage everyone to participate – activities are adult and kid-friendly. Please join us for our 20th year of Mission to Our City. Let’s serve our community in love! For the first time in our 30 year history, all five of our church locations are leading a local mission trip this summer!

On our app in Events or online HERE.

Free or $12 if you want a T-shirt

More info to come but right now, we are asking three things of you:

  1. Join the planning team. Contact Angeli, 651-238-6231 (call or text).
  2. Pray about serving during Mission to Our City.
  3. Help us love your neighbors. Start thinking about a neighbor/coworker/friend that we can serve during the week.

Do Justice Conference

With Bryan Stevenson & Dr. Kenneth Young

At Christ Presbyterian Church 6901 Normandale Road Edina

Thursday, November 8,1:00 - 5:30 PM, $79. Registration opens June 4. The Do Justice Conference is for pastors and faith leaders to explore how racial justice is an essential part of the gospel. As we confront the ethical issues of mass incarceration and racial tension in society, we will explore our Biblical mandate to uphold principles of compassion, justice and forgiveness. Bryan Stevenson, Attorney, human rights activist, Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative, and author will share an impactful message on the power of just mercy to break the generational cycles of retribution, victimization and abuse of power. Bryan Stevenson is one of the country's most visionary legal thinkers and social justice advocates.

Thursday, November 8, 6:30 - 8:30 PM, Free. registration opens September 4.
America has the largest prison population in the world – and the criminal justice system that puts the men, women, and children in these prisons is broken. Excessive punishment and abuse are widespread, and the collateral consequences are devastating lives and communities. An inspiring and unflinchingly honest speaker, Bryan Stevenson talks about defending some of America’s most rejected and marginalized people. The stories he tells are heartbreaking, yet inspiring, and motivate audiences to make a change.

Registration is necessary for both and for more information, go HERE.

Multi-location News

Fast. Pray. Worship. Together.

All-Location Worship and Prayer

Sunday, July 8, 5:00-9:00 PM, Evergreen-Bloomington, Auditorium. The first-century church sought God together through prayer and fasting as they faced difficult times and strived to embrace Jesus’ call to witness the Gospel to all people. Our church is also navigating a difficult time and we are on the eve of an all-location mission week to love our neighbors and share the hope of Christ. Please join us for an all-location gathering of worship, prayer, and fasting as we believe God to humble, equip, and embolden us. We will pray that God will break spiritual strongholds and advance His kingdom. If you cannot attend, please consider fasting all day on Sunday and joining us in spirit by praying.

30 Year Anniversary Celebration

Save the Date!

Sunday, August 19,5:00-8:00 PM, Place TBD. Evergreen is turning 30 years old! So we're throwing an all-location celebration and would love for you and your family to join us. We'll be looking back at all the Lord has done, and looking forward to what the Lord might have for us in a promising future. Rally your small group, church friends, and all in your sphere of influence as we would love for every person to attend.

Mission Week Training

This summer we will be doing a mission trip to our city and like any short-term mission trip there is training to be done to prepare for it. Please plan to attend if any of the following are true for you:

  1. You know you should share your faith more
  2. You want to be equipped to share the Gospel
  3. It’s time to step outside of your comfort zone
  4. You have a desire to be used by the Lord
  5. You will be participating in the summer mission trip

The method we will be training with is easy to lean and family friendly. After the training, we'll go out in teams and practice. Bring some snacks for the family to eat while you are out or bring money to pick up lunch. Not only will you leave being more confident in sharing your faith, but the Lord just might use you in someone else’s life. Questions? Contact Pastor Rob Busse.
