"We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God has prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10
Most of what you see going on at The Urban Refuge is done by regular folks who have determined to give their time and energy serving in the way God has designed them. Every person has a part to play, and every part is important! There are no small jobs at The Urban Refuge. Everything from serving in the nursery or greeting at the door to leading a small group or playing in the band has the opportunity to touch the lives of others and make an impact in the Kingdom of God!
God has uniquely designed each one of us to play a necessary part in the life of the church, and to make a difference in the lives of others. Your S.H.A.P.E.—Spiritual gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality and Experiences—all work together to determine how God has designed you for ministry. What God has made you to BE determines what He intends for you to DO! Periodically, you can take our S.H.A.P.E. class to define just what God formed you to do. The class incorporates teaching, self-examination, and coaching to help you determine the ministry that’s right for you.
